Created page with "
Yakuake
is a terminal emulator that will slide down your screen when you press a shortcut key. It allows very fast access to your shell from any program. It is s..."

New page

Yakuake
is a terminal emulator that will slide down your screen when you press a shortcut key. It allows very fast access to your shell from any program.

It is similar to other programs like Guake and Tilda.

== Install ==
<syntaxhighlight lang="console">
$ sudo apt install yakuake
</syntaxhighlight>

== Change Shortcut ==
The default shortcut to open
Yakuake
is
F12
. This conflicts with the default shortcut to open developer tools in browsers. I personally use
F1
as the key is easy to reach and its default functionality is useless to me.

To change this, open application
System Settings
, open section
Shortcuts
, and choose
Global Shortcuts
. In that screen, select
Yakuake
as component and click on the shortcut to change it.
